Ep 7. As Seen on TV / Can You Spare a Dime?

As Seen on TV: SpongeBob becomes convinced that he must be a celebrity in order to start living the good life, and so he decides to create his own TV commercial. While filming, Squidward reels off a series of suggestions on how to make the commercial more professional, only to be rebuffed by SpongeBob each time. Nevertheless, his ad is quite successful, and SpongeBob starts living the high life - until he realizes that his fame is soon forgotten and his riches merely an illusion.

Can You Spare a Dime?: Squidward quits his job after his boss, Mr. Krabs, exploits his services for the umpteenth time. However, when Squidward can't find another job, he turns to his old boss for help. Mr. Krabs agrees to give him another chance, but on the condition that he become the restaurant's lowest-paid employee. When Squidward can't hack it, he hits up Squilliam for a loan and poses as Mr. Krabs' personal butler. Meanwhile, SpongeBob has developed a nervous twitch that makes him incapable of cooking Krusty Krab's signature dish, the Krabby Patty. Mr. Krabs realizes that he needs SpongeBob's help fast, and after learning that his employee is about to be evicted, he offers to pay his wages for the month. Squidward, who has developed a taste for the high life, promptly quits his job again and starts spending like a king.
