Sandy, SpongeBob and the Worm/Squid on Strike is the twentieth episode of the second season of the popular animated television show SpongeBob SquarePants. The episode is divided into two separate stories which are linked together by the theme of work and strikes.
In "Sandy, SpongeBob and the Worm," the gang from Bikini Bottom is in a frenzy after hearing about a giant worm that is supposedly devouring everything in its path. Sandy, who is a scientist and inventor, decides to create a device that will allow her and SpongeBob to track the worm and put an end to its rampage. However, despite Sandy's best efforts, the search turns out to be more difficult than they anticipated. The worm is huge, fast, and incredibly sneaky, and it doesn't help that Sandy keeps getting distracted by SpongeBob's accidental antics.
In the meantime, Squidward has decided that he has had enough of his job at the Krusty Krab and goes on strike. He demands higher pay and better working conditions, but Mr. Krabs, the owner of the restaurant, is not willing to meet his demands. Squidward, along with his friend and coworker, SpongeBob, spend their days picketing outside of the Krusty Krab. However, things take a turn for the worst when SpongeBob's loyalty to his boss is put to the test, and Squidward's strike ultimately threatens to destroy their friendship.
The two stories of "Sandy, SpongeBob and the Worm" and "Squid on Strike" are a perfect example of the show's unique blend of humor, heart, and adventure. The characters are quirky, lovable, and relatable, and the animation and soundtrack are both playful and imaginative. "Sandy, SpongeBob and the Worm/Squid on Strike" is an enjoyable episode that is sure to make both children and adults laugh and feel good.
