Ep 2. F-i-- First S-e-- Second F-- First Day

Maya DiMeo is a fierce mother who has not given up on finding the perfect school for her nonverbal son, JJ. After encountering countless obstacles on her journey, she finally found a good fit for him at Lafayette High. In the second episode of the second season of Speechless, titled "F-I– FIRST S-E– SECOND F– FIRST DAY," the family wakes up early for their first day at the new school.

While Maya is at the principal's office, JJ runs off and ends up in the computer lab. He finds a computer and uses his device to type out a story. Kenneth finds him there and is thrilled to see JJ engaged in an activity he enjoys. This moment helps Kenneth and Maya understand each other a little better.

In the end, Maya realizes that she needs to trust JJ's new school and Kenneth. She reaches out to Kenneth and apologizes for her behavior, and they start to build a more positive relationship. The family leaves the school and head back home, with each member having had a different experience on JJ's first day.
