Speakeasy from Fullscreen is a unique talk show featuring in-depth conversations between host, comedian, and author Paul F. Tompkins and a variety of celebrity guests. Shot in a vintage speakeasy setting with dim lighting and cozy leather armchairs, the show has a relaxed and intimate vibe that encourages candid and revealing conversations.

Each episode features a different guest, ranging from actors and comedians to musicians and writers. Some of the notable guests include actor Zach Galifianakis, musician Karen O, and comedian Tig Notaro. Tompkins and his guests usually share a drink or two as they delve into topics ranging from childhood experiences to creative processes to life lessons.

One of the most appealing aspects of Speakeasy is the personal and conversational format. Tompkins is a skilled interviewer who knows how to get his guests to open up and share personal stories and insights. He has a charming and disarming presence that puts his guests at ease and makes them feel like they're having a conversation with an old friend.

Another highlight of the show is the speakeasy setting itself. The show is filmed in a real speakeasy in downtown Los Angeles, and the vintage decor and jazzy soundtrack give the show a nostalgic and romantic vibe. The dim lighting and cozy atmosphere create a sense of intimacy that helps draw viewers into the conversations.

In addition to the interviews, each episode of Speakeasy also features musical performances by the guest or a musical act. The musical interludes add an extra layer of entertainment and variety to the show, and they also showcase the talents of some lesser-known musicians who might not get much mainstream exposure.

Overall, Speakeasy is a refreshing and engaging talk show that stands out from the crowded field of similar programs. Tompkins is a charming and skilled host who knows how to bring out the best in his guests, and the speakeasy setting adds an air of romance and intrigue to the proceedings. Whether you're a fan of comedy, music, or just good conversation, Speakeasy is definitely worth a watch.
