Space Precinct is a science-fiction television series that ran from 1994 to 1995. It is set in the year 2040 and is centered around the humans living on the planet Altor, in the Demeter city. The series follows the adventures of Precinct 88, the police precinct that oversees law and order in the city. The officers of Precinct 88 are responsible for maintaining peace and dealing with the various crimes that are committed on the planet.

The lead character of the show is Lieutenant Patrick Brogan, who is played by Ted Shackelford. Brogan is a former New York detective who has moved to Altor with his family, which includes his wife Rachel and their two children. Brogan takes on his new role as a police officer on Altor and is quickly thrown into the action. Together with his partner, Officer Jack Haldane, played by Rob Youngblood, Brogan investigates various crimes, from robbery to murder, all while dealing with the challenges of life on an alien planet.

One of the most unique features of Space Precinct is the makeup and creature design. The show was created by Gerry Anderson, who is known for his work on Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. The makeup and prosthetics used to create the alien characters on the show are incredibly detailed and impressive. Each alien race in the show has its own distinct look and feel, and the makeup and prosthetics help bring these characters to life.

The show also features impressive practical effects and miniatures. Altor is a visually stunning and intricate world, and the show's production design is top-notch. The buildings and sets are incredibly detailed, and the miniatures used to create the cityscapes are impressive for a show from the 90s. The visual effects are also well-done, considering the time period in which the show was made.

Space Precinct is a show that has a lot of heart. The characters all have unique personalities and quirks, and the show does a great job of exploring their relationships and dynamics. The show also has a great sense of humor, with plenty of laugh-out-loud moments. Fans of classic science-fiction shows like Star Trek and Doctor Who will appreciate the charm and fun of Space Precinct.

In addition to the main character of Patrick Brogan, the show features a variety of other memorable characters. Officer Jack Haldane, Brogan's partner, is a likable character who provides a lot of the show's humor. Liz, the station's medical officer, is played by Simone Bendix and is a strong and capable character. Captain Podly, played by Jerome Willis, is the no-nonsense leader of Precinct 88. The show also features a variety of recurring characters, including an eccentric millionaire who funds Brogan's investigations and a villainous crook played by Richard James.

Overall, Space Precinct is a fun and entertaining show that features great makeup, practical effects, and an engaging cast of characters. The show's mix of humor, action, and sci-fi elements make it a must-watch for fans of classic science-fiction television.
