In South Park season 8 episode 14, titled "Woodland Critter Christmas," the episode begins in the woods where Stan is walking around and comes across a group of anthropomorphic forest critters who are excitedly preparing for Christmas. The critters inform Stan that their savior, a mystical creature known as the "Anti-Christ," is due to be born on Christmas day.
As Stan becomes more involved with the critters' holiday festivities, he soon realizes that something sinister is going on. The critters reveal their plan to sacrifice the Anti-Christ in a blood ritual and have Stan join in. Stan must decide whether to participate in the ritual or try to stop it before it's too late.
The episode is filled with dark humor and satirical commentary on the commercialization of Christmas and religious extremism. As always, the language is raunchy and there are plenty of pop culture references throughout.
Many fans consider this episode to be one of the best of the series, due to its absurd and dark storyline, unique animation style for the critters, and poignant commentary on religion and holiday traditions. "Woodland Critter Christmas" is definitely not for the faint of heart, but for those who love South Park's irreverent humor and twisted satire, it's a must-watch.
