In South Park season 7 episode 12, titled "All About the Mormons," the residents of the small Colorado town find themselves intrigued by a new family that has moved into the neighborhood. This family, the Harrisons, are Mormons, and their arrival has prompted the townspeople to learn more about the religion.
Stan and his friends Kyle, Cartman, and Butters are among the curious, and they end up taking a tour of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with a friendly Mormon family. The boys are surprised by the religion's beliefs and practices, including the idea of a prophet receiving new revelations from God, and they find themselves drawn to the kindness and positivity that the Harrisons and other Mormons exhibit.
However, not everyone in South Park is as open-minded towards the Mormons. Many of the townspeople, including Stan's dad Randy, still hold negative stereotypes and prejudices towards the religion. Meanwhile, a group of Mormon missionaries arrive in town to try and convert more people to their faith, causing a stir among the already divided community.
As tensions rise, Stan and his friends are caught in the middle, trying to reconcile their newfound respect for the Mormons with the intolerance and hatred of the townspeople. In the end, they must confront the deeper issues at play and come to a difficult, but ultimately hopeful, resolution.
"All About the Mormons" is a satirical take on the issues of religious tolerance and understanding, with South Park's trademark irreverent humor and social commentary. The episode is notable for its fair portrayal of the Mormon faith, as well as the attempt to explore the complexities of prejudice and stereotypes in a thoughtful, nuanced manner.
