In the season 14 premiere of South Park, entitled "Sexual Healing," the citizens of the titular town are plagued by a new wave of sex addiction. The situation threatens to tear apart marriages and relationships across the town, with a particularly affecting case involving the marriage of Randy and Sharon Marsh. In an attempt to curb the addiction epidemic, the South Park Elementary School hires Tiger Woods as a sort of "sexual addiction counselor."
Meanwhile, a protest group led by Kyle's father, Gerald Broflovski, rallies against Tiger Woods' hiring, citing his own history of sexual misconduct. They argue that Woods' presence in South Park is only exacerbating the problem. Their movement gains traction as more and more families are torn apart by the addiction epidemic, and eventually, the school board decides to fire Tiger Woods.
In response, the citizens of South Park stage a massive protest that brings the town to a standstill. Eventually, the townsfolk come to realize that they have been projecting their own sexual issues onto Tiger Woods, and that his firing will not solve their problems. They decide to embrace their sexual desires rather than suppress them, and the town begins to heal.
Throughout the episode, the show's trademark irreverent humor is on full display. The satire is biting and topical, with nods to the real-life sex addiction struggles of public figures like Tiger Woods and David Duchovny. At the same time, the show manages to find heart in the story of Randy and Sharon's troubled marriage, showcasing the genuine emotional connection that has always been at the core of South Park's best episodes. Overall, "Sexual Healing" is a standout episode that is sure to leave viewers laughing, and maybe even thinking a little bit about their own sexual hang-ups in the process.
