Waver, Run! is the fourth episode of Soul Eater Not! season 1. The episode opens with Tsugumi and Anya being assigned their first official mission. Their task is to capture a witch that has been spotted in the neighborhood. The two girls are excited to complete their first mission but find out that their third partner, Meme, will not be joining them due to her ongoing health issues.
As Tsugumi and Anya set out on their mission, they come across a group of students from DWMA, who are also on a mission to capture the same witch. The group is led by Akane, a senior student from DWMA. Akane is determined to capture the witch by any means necessary, which puts her at odds with Tsugumi and Anya, who prefer to find a peaceful solution.
After several failed attempts to capture the witch, Akane orders an attack on the witch, which ends in disaster. The witch ends up escaping, and the group is left to deal with the consequences of their actions. As they regroup and recuperate, Tsugumi and Anya are shocked to learn that Meme has gone missing.
The rest of the episode revolves around Tsugumi and Anya's search for Meme. They search the entire school campus and eventually end up at the local park, where they find Meme sitting alone on a bench. Meme reveals to them that she was feeling overwhelmed and needed some time alone to clear her head.
As Tsugumi and Anya comfort Meme, they are interrupted by Akane, who has come to apologize for her actions earlier in the day. Akane admits that she was wrong to attack the witch and was too eager to impress her superiors. She also reveals that she has been struggling with her own insecurities about living up to the expectations of her family.
In the end, the girls reunite and reflect on their mission and the lessons they learned. They realize that being a student at DWMA is not just about capturing witches and fulfilling orders but also about learning from one another and growing as individuals.
Waver, Run! is a heartwarming episode that focuses on the characters' growth and development. It also highlights the importance of teamwork, empathy, and understanding in achieving common goals. The episode's pacing is excellent, and the animation is top-notch, making it an enjoyable watch from start to finish.
