In Sons of Anarchy season 4 episode 7, titled "Fruit for the Crows," tensions rise within SAMCRO as they continue to work with the Galindo cartel. Jax struggles with his loyalty to the club and his desire to protect Tara and their children from harm. Meanwhile, the cartel becomes increasingly violent and dangerous, forcing SAMCRO to make some difficult decisions.
The episode begins with SAMCRO attending a funeral for a member of a rival gang, the One-Niners. The tension between the two groups is palpable, and it's clear that the truce between them is fragile at best. As the funeral ends, SAMCRO is approached by a representative from the Galindo cartel, who asks them to transport a large shipment of drugs across the border into Mexico.
Jax is hesitant to take on the job, knowing that it will put his family in danger. He confides in Tara that he's considering leaving the club and moving away with her, but Tara is hesitant to uproot their lives and leave behind everything they've built in Charming.
As SAMCRO prepares to transport the drugs, they receive an unexpected visit from an old acquaintance, Jimmy O'Phelan. Jimmy, who is now in prison, warns Jax and the rest of the club that the cartel is planning to double-cross them and use the shipment as a way to take control of SAMCRO's gun business.
Despite the warning, SAMCRO decides to go ahead with the shipment, knowing that they need the money and that the cartel is their only option for distribution. They take extreme precautions to ensure the safety of their members, including having Tig patrol the perimeter of their safe house.
However, things quickly go wrong when a group of masked gunmen break into the safe house and steal the drugs. SAMCRO manages to fight them off, but not before several members are severely injured and one is killed.
In the aftermath of the attack, Jax and Tara have a heart-to-heart about their future. Jax finally decides that he can't continue putting his family at risk and tells Tara that he's going to leave the club and take her and their kids away from Charming. Tara is hesitant at first but ultimately agrees to go with him.
Meanwhile, the relationship between SAMCRO and the Galindo cartel grows increasingly strained. The cartel demands that SAMCRO give them the identity of the person who leaked information to the attackers, but SAMCRO refuses, knowing that it could put one of their own at risk.
As tensions between the two groups continue to rise, SAMCRO begins to suspect that the cartel is planning something even more sinister. They discover that the cartel is planning a large-scale attack on one of their rivals and that they plan to use SAMCRO to do their dirty work.
The episode ends with SAMCRO at a crossroads. They know that they need the cartel's help to distribute their guns and make the money they need to survive, but they're increasingly uneasy about the cartel's violent and unpredictable behavior. Jax is torn between his loyalty to the club and his obligation to protect his family, and the future of SAMCRO hangs in the balance.
