As the episode Widening Gyre begins, SAMCRO is still reeling from the events of the previous episode, which saw the death of one of their own. In an effort to bring closure and justice, Jax and Clay head to Stockton to meet with their imprisoned ally, Lenny the Pimp. They hope that he can provide some information about the Chinese and their involvement in the recent violence.
Meanwhile, Gemma is struggling with her guilt over withholding information about John Teller's death from Jax. She turns to Tara for advice and the two women bond over their shared experiences of trauma and loss. Tara also has her hands full with a pregnant woman who is in desperate need of medical attention but refuses to seek help due to her illegal status.
Back in Charming, tensions are rising between the Mayans and the Nords. Unser, who is serving as an intermediary between the two gangs, is caught in the crossfire when a drive-by shooting occurs outside his house. The incident leads to a heated exchange between Clay and Alvarez, and it becomes clear that the fragile truce between the two gangs is on the brink of collapse.
As the episode progresses, the tension only continues to mount. Jax's meeting with Lenny doesn't go as planned, and it becomes clear that there is a traitor in their midst. Gemma's guilt leads her to make a bold move that could have serious consequences. And Tara's efforts to help the pregnant woman put her own safety and freedom at risk.
Widening Gyre is a tense and emotionally charged episode that takes the ongoing conflicts between the various factions to new heights. As the characters grapple with their own personal demons and the fallout from recent events, alliances are tested and lines are drawn. Viewers are left on the edge of their seats, wondering what the next move will be and who will come out on top.
