Ep 4. You've Got Fan Mail

Sonny With A Chance was an American sitcom that aired on the Disney Channel from 2009-2011. It followed the life of Sonny Munroe, played by Demi Lovato, who moves from Wisconsin to Los Angeles to join the cast of the sketch comedy show, So Random!. In season 1 episode 4, titled "You've Got Fan Mail," Sonny experiences the downside of fame as she becomes the target of an obsessive fan.

The episode begins with Sonny excitedly reading fan mail with her castmates Tawni, Nico, Grady, and Zora. However, things take a turn when Sonny receives a disturbing email from a fan who claims to know everything about her, including her favorite cereal and the fact that she wears a lucky bracelet. The email ends with a threat, leaving Sonny feeling scared and vulnerable.

The So Random! cast tries to reassure Sonny that the fan is likely harmless, but Sonny can't shake the feeling of being watched and followed. She begins to alter her behavior in the hopes of throwing off the stalker, but it only seems to make things worse. The cast becomes concerned for Sonny's safety and suggests that she go to the police, but Sonny is reluctant to cause any trouble.

Meanwhile, Sonny is supposed to meet her own idol, actress Selena Gomez, on the set of So Random! Selena arrives and is friendly and upbeat, but Sonny can only focus on her fear of the stalker. When Selena's belongings go missing, all eyes turn to Sonny as the likely suspect. Sonny is hurt and embarrassed that her castmates could ever think she's capable of theft, and the tension between them grows.

The situation comes to a head when Sonny is called into a meeting with the So Random! producers and shown security footage of her apparently stealing Selena's belongings. Sonny is shocked and confused, as she knows for a fact that she didn't take anything. She eventually realizes that the stalker must be the real culprit, and comes up with a plan to catch them in the act.

With the help of her castmates, Sonny sets a trap for the stalker, leaving a box of "stolen" items behind in a public place. Sure enough, the stalker takes the bait and shows up to retrieve the box. The cast follows the stalker back to their hideout, where they discover that the stalker is actually a young girl who has been orphaned and is seeking attention and affection. The cast helps the girl understand the seriousness of her actions and promises to keep in touch with her.

The episode ends with the So Random! cast in good spirits, having solved the mystery of the stalker and bridged the divide that had grown between them. Sonny reflects on the dangers and pressures of fame, but finds comfort in the supportive community she's found among her castmates.
