Sofia the First season 3 episode 3, "Minding the Manor," revolves around Princess Sofia taking on the role of Manor Steward when Baileywick falls sick. As a Manor Steward, Sofia must manage the day-to-day affairs of the Royal Palace and ensure that it runs smoothly.
The episode opens with Baileywick feeling unwell and unable to carry out his duties as the Manor Steward. Queen Miranda quickly assigns Sofia to take over the role until Baileywick recovers. Sofia is excited, but nervous about managing the palace on her own. The Queen reassures her, and advises her to delegate tasks where necessary.
One of the first tasks Sofia must handle is organizing a royal banquet for all the royal families of the Seven Kingdoms. She quickly realizes that planning a banquet isn't as easy as it seems, especially when she has to accommodate everyone's dietary requirements and preferences. Sofia decides to delegate the task to Amber, her step-sister, as she believes Amber has the necessary skills to pull it off.
With the banquet preparations well underway, Sofia turns her attention to the rest of the palace's affairs. She manages to complete all her tasks but is left feeling exhausted by the end of the day. However, her work isn't done yet.
During the night, Sofia is woken up by a loud noise. She goes to investigate, but to her surprise, finds that all the servants are fast asleep. It turns out that the noise came from a roving band of woodland creatures that have infiltrated the palace kitchen. Sofia quickly realizes that these creatures have been raiding the palace's food supplies every night for a week.
Sofia takes charge and tries to get the creatures to leave, but to no avail. She learns from a feisty mouse named Tilly that the creatures have been coming to the palace for generations, and they believe that they have a right to the palace's food. Sofia understands this and comes up with a solution that allows the woodland creatures to have access to the palace's food supply in exchange for their help in keeping the palace clean and tidy.
As the morning approaches, Sofia is exhausted but relieved that she has successfully managed to handle all her duties as the Manor Steward. Baileywick recovers, and Sofia hands over the role back to him. However, Baileywick gives Sofia a special medal for her efforts and assures her that she has the makings of a great Manor Steward.
The episode ends with Sofia reflecting on her experience as the Manor Steward and how much she has learned along the way. She realizes that being in charge comes with a great deal of responsibility and that she must be prepared to handle anything that comes her way.
