So Weird season 2 episode 11 is titled Banshee. The main plot of the episode revolves around the main character, Fiona 'Fi' Phillips, encountering a banshee whilst she is travelling through Ireland with her family.
The episode begins with Fi’s family arriving in Ireland. Fi’s mother, a famous rock star, is performing at a music festival. Fi, an aspiring musician herself, is excited to explore the country and learn more about her roots. Fi’s fascination with the supernatural is well-established, and she is thrilled to learn about the banshee legend upon arriving in Ireland.
Fi and her brother Jack explore the countryside and find an ancient graveyard. At the graveyard, Fi hears the spine-chilling sound of the banshee’s cry. The banshee is known for foretelling death, and Fi worries that it is a sign that someone is going to die.
The rest of the episode follows Fi as she tries to discover the truth about the banshee. She researches the legend and learns that the banshee only appears to those who are destined to die. Fi becomes increasingly anxious about who the banshee is trying to warn her about.
Throughout the episode, Fi experiences strange occurrences that lead her to believe the banshee’s warning is real. She sees the ghost of a young girl who tells her about the night she was murdered. Also, she finds a ribbon left behind by the girl's spirit. Although no one else can see the ghost, Fi is convinced that it's connected to the banshee’s cry.
Fi shares her concerns with her family, but they dismiss the idea. Fi’s mother suggests that she is just anxious due to the upcoming performance, while her brother Jack is more interested in exploring the Irish countryside than contemplating supernatural experiences.
As the festival draws closer, Fi becomes increasingly anxious, and she is convinced that the banshee’s warning must not be ignored. She sets off to the spot where she first heard the banshee and finds an old, abandoned church. Inside, she discovers an altar with a peculiar symbol. Fi interprets this to be a sign that the banshee’s warning was genuine.
Later, while watching her mother perform at the festival, Fi sees the banshee and follows her. She ends up at the graveyard where she first heard the banshee's cry and finally discovers that her supposed "destiny" is not to die, but to help the banshee find peace. She learns that the banshee is the ghost of a young girl who was wrongly accused of a crime and hanged many years ago. The banshee's cry was a plea for help in finding justice for the girl.
Fi realizes that the ribbon she had found was a crucial piece of evidence in the girl’s murder case. She seeks out the authorities, and they agree to investigate the matter. Eventually, they find evidence annulling the charges, and the girl's spirit is released from purgatory.
The episode ends with Fi playing a new song that she has written for the young girl, celebrating her liberation, and putting her spirit to rest. With the knowledge that she has helped the girl finally find peace, Fi is able to put her anxieties behind her and enjoy the rest of her time in Ireland.
Overall, So Weird season 2 episode 11 is an exciting and engaging episode that explores the depths of supernatural legends. It is a testament to how the littlest things can make a significant impact on someone's life and how listening and investigating could lead to a better solution.
