Sneaky Pete season 2 episode 2, titled "Inside Out," picks up where the previous episode left off. Marius Josipovic, a former convict who has taken on the identity of his former cellmate Pete, continues to evade his enemies while trying to keep the family he conned from falling apart.
The episode begins with Marius/Pete waking up to find his cousin Julia in his bed. Julia had arrived the night before with news that her husband Lance had been cheating on her. Marius/Pete offers to help her, and the two set out to track down Lance's mistress.
Meanwhile, we see the true Pete, who is being held captive by his former boss, a ruthless gangster named Vince. Pete is being tortured for information about a diamond heist that he supposedly orchestrated. Vince's henchmen use brutal methods to try to break Pete, but he remains steadfast in his refusal to reveal anything.
Back with Marius/Pete and Julia, they confront Lance's mistress at her place of work, a strip club. They discover that she knows nothing about the affair and that Lance has been using her to launder money for a criminal organization. Marius/Pete devises a plan to steal the money before Lance can get to it.
As Marius/Pete and Julia execute their plan, we see a flashback of Marius's time in prison. He had befriended another inmate named Frank, who was serving time for a crime he didn't commit. Marius had promised Frank that he would help clear his name, but when Marius was released from prison, he lost touch with Frank. Now, Marius/Pete realizes that he needs Frank's help to clear his own name.
The episode ends with Marius/Pete and Julia successfully stealing the money, but with Lance hot on their trail. Meanwhile, we see Pete continuing to endure torture at the hands of Vince's men, refusing to give up any information. The tension continues to build as the two storylines converge, setting up for a thrilling remainder of the season.
"Inside Out" is a gripping episode that delves deeper into the complex world of Sneaky Pete. The dynamic between Marius/Pete and Julia is entertaining to watch, as their chemistry is both comedic and intense. The flashbacks to Marius's time in prison provide insight into his character and motivations, while the scenes of Pete's torture are harrowing to watch.
