Jane Andrews was a former personal assistant to Sarah Ferguson, the Duchess of York. She was initially known as a loyal and trustworthy employee, but that all changed when she began an affair with her employer's boyfriend, Tom Cressman. After being caught and dismissed from her job, Jane's obsession with Tom escalated to dangerous levels.

In this episode of Snapped, viewers are taken through the events leading up to Jane's startling revelations on the witness stand. We see how her mental health deteriorated over time as her fixation on Tom consumed her every thought. She began stalking him relentlessly, leaving threatening messages on his answering machine, and even going so far as to break into his home.

As her behavior became increasingly erratic, Tom tried to distance himself from her, but she refused to let go. The situation came to a head when Jane discovered that Tom was planning to marry another woman. Enraged, she broke into his girlfriend's home and attacked her with a knife, leaving her with serious injuries.

Arrested and charged with attempted murder, Jane's defense team tried to argue that she was not responsible for her actions due to her mental state. However, the prosecution argued that her actions were premeditated and that she knew exactly what she was doing.

Throughout the episode, viewers hear from Jane's friends and family members who try to piece together what led her to commit such a heinous crime. Her ex-husband reveals that she has always been an attention-seeker who craved validation from others. Others suggest that her obsession with Tom was simply a symptom of a deeper emotional imbalance.

As the trial unfolds, viewers watch as Jane's behavior becomes increasingly erratic and bizarre. At times, she appears to be completely disconnected from reality, while at other times, her actions seem calculated and deliberate. The question of whether she was truly insane or simply seeking attention remains open until the very end.

In the end, the jury is left to decide if Jane was responsible for her actions or if she was truly unable to control her behavior due to her mental state. Despite the evidence against her, some viewers may sympathize with Jane and believe that she truly was a victim of her own mental illness, while others may see her as a dangerous and manipulative person who deserves to be punished.

Overall, "Jane Andrews" is a gripping episode of Snapped that explores the intricacies of mental illness and the lengths to which people will go for love and attention.
