Ep 7. Ghazal Mansury

In season 18, episode 7 of Snapped, we meet Ghazal Mansury, a young Afghan woman who falls in love with an American soldier named Dave. After they marry, they move to Kentucky where Dave's family lives. Ghazal quickly finds herself struggling to adapt to American culture and being rejected by Dave's family.

As time goes on, the couple begins having marital problems. Dave starts to become controlling and abusive towards Ghazal. She confides in her friends and family about the abuse, but no one seems to take her claims seriously.

One night, after an argument, Dave threatens to divorce Ghazal and take their daughter with him. Fearing for her daughter's safety and believing that she has nowhere else to turn, Ghazal takes matters into her own hands.

In a fit of rage, Ghazal murders Dave and attempts to make it look like a suicide. However, the police quickly uncover the truth and Ghazal is arrested and charged with murder.

Throughout the episode, interviews with Ghazal's friends and family members shed light on her struggles with cultural differences, abuse, and the justice system. As the trial unfolds, we see how her actions were driven by desperation and fear, but ultimately lead to devastating consequences.

Snapped season 18, episode 7 offers a glimpse into the challenges that immigrant women face when adapting to a new culture and the violence that can result from domestic abuse.
