Kristi Koslow and Brian Salter met when they were young and had a significant age difference between them. Their relationship was tumultuous, and Kristi was often the victim of Brian's abusive behavior. Despite this, Kristi believed that she could change Brian, and she stayed with him. As they got older, their relationship became more complicated, and they both struggled with addiction issues.
On January 1st, 2012, Kristi and Brian's lives took a tragic turn when Kristi's friend, Tracey, was found dead in her home. Kristi discovered the body, and although she initially thought that Tracey had died of a drug overdose, it was later determined that she had been murdered. The police investigated the crime, but they were unable to find any leads.
Months went by, and Kristi and Brian continued to struggle with their addiction issues. But despite the challenges they faced, they remained together. As the police continued to investigate Tracey's murder, they started to look at Kristi and Brian as possible suspects. They discovered that Kristi had been involved in a feud with Tracey over money and that Brian had a history of violence.
The police arrested Kristi and Brian and charged them with Tracey's murder. As the case went to trial, the prosecution painted a picture of a dysfunctional relationship that had turned violent. They argued that Kristi and Brian had killed Tracey to prevent her from telling anyone about their drug use and the money they owed her.
In court, Kristi and Brian maintained their innocence. They claimed that they had nothing to do with Tracey's murder and that they loved her like a sister. They also claimed that the police were targeting them because of their addiction issues and that they had fabricated evidence to build a case against them.
Despite their protests, the jury found Kristi and Brian guilty of murder. They were both sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Their story is a tragic reminder of the dangers of addiction and the toll that it can take on a relationship.
