Ep 1. Primary Brothers

In season 2 episode 1 of Smart Guy titled "Primary Brothers," we find TJ Henderson, a 10-year-old boy genius, starting the new school year at Piedmont High School. TJ skipped a few grades and is now in the same grade as his older brother, Marcus. Despite being in the same grade, they are not in the same classes, which causes tension between the two brothers.

TJ is excited to start the school year, but his excitement is dampened when he discovers that his best friend Morris has been held back a grade and is no longer in any of TJ's classes. With his brother Marcus busy with his friends and girlfriend, TJ becomes determined to find a new friend.

TJ soon discovers that many other students at Piedmont High are not very friendly and not interested in being friends with him. He attempts to make conversation with a student named Rodney, but Rodney only wants to talk about math and is not interested in being friends with TJ.

During gym class, TJ makes a new friend named Darnell, who is also interested in science and math. They bond over their love for science and TJ's inventions.

Meanwhile, Marcus and his friends have started a rap group called "The Primary Brothers." Despite having no experience in rapping, Marcus is confident that they can make it big. However, when they perform their first song for the school, they are met with laughter and ridicule from the other students.

TJ attends their performance and is embarrassed for his brother. He tries to give Marcus some constructive criticism, but Marcus refuses to listen to him. It's not until their father, Floyd, encourages Marcus to take TJ's feedback into consideration that Marcus agrees to make some changes to their performance.

In the end, the Primary Brothers perform again, this time with a more positive response from the crowd. TJ also makes peace with Marcus, realizing that he should appreciate the time they do spend together instead of focusing on their differences.
