Clark returns to Mexico in search of his mother’s past after receiving a mysterious package that triggers memories of his childhood. Meanwhile, Lana struggles with her jealousy over Kara’s closeness with Lex, and Chloe battles the infection that Lois unwittingly spread throughout the Daily Planet offices. All the while, a dangerous new threat emerges in Smallville as a result of the experimentation that LuthorCorp conducted on a group of prisoners and the previously unexplained deaths of former employees. As tensions rise and secrets come to light, Clark must navigate treacherous waters in order to keep his loved ones safe and secure his own future as the protectant of Earth.
