Clark is trying to figure out how to balance his duties as both a student and a superhero. Meanwhile, Chloe is struggling to keep her secrets hidden from her new boss, Lex, especially when he asks her to investigate the mysterious death of a former Smallville High student.

As Clark deals with the fallout of his decision to reveal his powers to Lana, he must also contend with the arrival of a new student named Cyrus Krupp. Cyrus is a computer genius who quickly becomes the talk of the school, but Clark is suspicious of his motives.

Chloe, meanwhile, is tasked with investigating the death of a former classmate, Genevieve, who died under mysterious circumstances. As she delves deeper into the case, she begins to uncover a dark conspiracy involving the LuthorCorp plant in Smallville.

As Clark begins to suspect that Cyrus is up to no good, he must also deal with his jealous feelings towards Lana's new boyfriend, Jason. Meanwhile, Chloe's investigation into Genevieve's death leads her to a shocking discovery about her own past.

As the episode comes to a close, Chloe confronts Lex with the evidence she has gathered and demands that he tell her the truth about what is really going on at the LuthorCorp plant. Meanwhile, Clark discovers Cyrus' true identity and must decide whether to trust him or not.
