Ep 13. Vengeance

As the fifth season of Smallville progresses, Clark Kent continues to keep his secret as the alien who landed on Earth years ago and possesses extraordinary powers. But the young Superman-in-the-making has been dealing with more mundane problems as well, such as working at the Daily Planet, dealing with his relationship with Lana Lang, and contending with the ongoing struggles of his friends and family.

In "Vengeance," the thirteenth episode of the season, Clark finds himself caught up in the activities of a group of vigilantes who are taking matters into their own hands. The group's leader is a woman named Andrea Rojas (played by Denise Quiñones), who goes by the name "A.C." and is seeking revenge for the murder of her sister. Along with her team of allies, A.C. is targeting the drug dealers who she believes were responsible for her sister's death.

At first, Clark is sympathetic to A.C.'s cause and willing to help her track down the people responsible for the crime. But as he gets deeper into the investigation, he becomes increasingly concerned about the methods that A.C. and her team are using. They are using violence and intimidation to get what they want, and Clark worries that they are going too far.

Meanwhile, Lana is dealing with her own problems. She has been working with Lex Luthor on a project to create a renewable energy source, but she is unhappy with the way Lex is treating her. He is keeping her in the dark and not giving her the credit she deserves for her contributions. Lana's frustration reaches a boiling point when she discovers that Lex has been using her research to develop a weapon instead of an energy source.

As tensions rise, Clark finds himself torn between his loyalty to his friends and his commitment to doing what is right. He knows that A.C. and her team are wrong for using violence, but he also understands their desire for justice. And he knows that Lana is in danger because of her involvement with Lex, but he is hesitant to reveal his secret to her.

As always, Smallville delivers a fast-paced, action-packed episode that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats. The show's talented cast, led by Tom Welling as Clark and Kristin Kreuk as Lana, bring depth and emotion to their characters, making it easy for fans to become invested in their struggles and triumphs.
