Clark and Lana's relationship is reaching a turning point as Lana tells Clark she wants to take their relationship to the next level. Meanwhile, the Kents' visit to the lake house is interrupted when a massive and strange storm brings in some unexpected guests. Clark must summon his superhero persona to save the day as he confronts a dangerous visitor. Additionally, Clark gets a newfound gift: the ability to astral project himself into other bodies. But when his body is taken over by an unexpected guest, he can't get back in, and Clark is left clinging to life.
The episode begins with Lana preparing for her first date with Clark. She's excited and wants everything to be perfect. She tells Chloe about her plans, and the girls chat about relationships. Lana is a bit nervous about taking things to the next level in her relationship with Clark.
Meanwhile, the Kents are packing up the car to head to the lake house for a relaxing weekend getaway, but Clark is feeling a bit left out. He tells his parents he's going to stay in Smallville to spend time with Lana, but Jonathan thinks it's important for Clark to go with them and be a part of the family.
As the Kents are driving to the lake house, they encounter a strange and stormy weather pattern. They have to pull over and seek shelter in a nearby abandoned building. As they settle in, they realize they aren't alone. A strange man appears out of nowhere, and he isn't friendly or easily deterred.
Back in Smallville, Lana and Clark's date is going well. They share a romantic moment, and Lana tells Clark she's ready to take their relationship to the next level. Clark is hesitant but agrees to take things slow and do what feels right for them.
Things take a turn for the worse when the Kents discover that their unwelcome guest is a powerful and dangerous visitor. Jonathan tries to fight him off, but he's no match for the intruder's strength. That's when Clark realizes he has to use his abilities to save his family.
As Clark confronts the powerful intruder, he discovers he has a new power. He can astral project into other people's bodies. At first, he's excited to explore this new ability, but his excitement is short-lived when his body is taken over by the dangerous visitor.
Clark desperately tries to get back into his own body, but he can't. He's left clinging to life as the visitor wreaks havoc on Smallville.
In the end, Clark is able to regain control of his body and stop the dangerous visitor. However, this newfound power has left him shaken and unsure of his abilities. Lana is there to comfort him, and they decide to take things slow in their relationship.
This episode of Smallville is action-packed and full of surprises. It explores the complexities of relationships and the dangers that come with having superpowers. As always, Clark must use his abilities for good and protect those he loves, even at his own cost.
