Sid is the third episode of the second season of Skins, a British teen drama series that follows the lives of a group of teenagers in Bristol, England. In this episode, we focus on the character of Sid, played by Mike Bailey, as he deals with the aftermath of his best friend Tony's accident.

The episode opens with Sid at the hospital, waiting for news about Tony's condition. He's visibly upset and anxious, unable to focus on anything else. When he finally gets a chance to see his friend, Tony is in a coma and hooked up to machines. Sid laments the fact that he didn't see the accident coming, that he didn't do anything to stop it.

Sid's guilt is further compounded when he finds out that Tony had been taking Maxxie's painkillers before the accident, something that Sid had no idea about. He confronts Maxxie about it, but Maxxie brushes it off, telling Sid to focus on Tony and not on the past. Sid tries to take this advice to heart, but he's unable to shake the feeling that he could have done more to help his friend.

Throughout the episode, we see flashbacks to Sid and Tony's childhood friendship. It's clear that they've been through a lot together and that their bond is strong. However, as they've grown older, they've grown apart. Tony has become more popular, more confident, while Sid has stayed the same quiet, awkward guy he's always been.

This is highlighted when Sid attends a party with some of Tony's friends. The party is filled with drugs, alcohol, and hook-ups, and Sid feels extremely out of place. He's not comfortable with the people there, and he's definitely not comfortable with the drug use that's going on. He tries to find Tony at the party, hoping to talk to him and find out what's been going on, but he's unable to locate him.

As the episode progresses, we see Sid try to reach out to others for help. He calls his parents, but they're dismissive of his concerns. He tries to talk to Michelle, Tony's girlfriend, but she's too wrapped up in her own grief to really hear what he's saying. In the end, it's Cassie, another member of the group, who helps Sid through his despair.

Cassie is dealing with her own issues - an eating disorder - but she's always had a special connection with Sid. She listens to him, comforts him, and helps him to see that he's not alone in his grief, that others are struggling too. Together, they sit by Tony's bedside and talk to him, hoping that he can hear them and that he'll wake up soon.

Sid's journey in this episode is one of grief, guilt, and self-discovery. He's forced to confront the fact that he's not the same person he was when he was a child, that he's grown apart from his best friend, and that he may have missed warning signs that could have prevented Tony's accident. However, he also learns that he's not alone, that there are people in his life who care about him and want to help him through this difficult time.

Overall, Skins season 2 episode 3 is a powerful and emotional episode that delves deep into the character of Sid. It's a testament to the show's ability to tackle difficult topics with sensitivity and honesty, and it's a must-watch for anyone who's a fan of the series.
