Ep 1. Episode 1

The show Skins revolves around the lives of a group of teenagers, their struggles with identity, sexuality, relationships, and drugs. Season 2 picks up where Season 1 left off, with the characters having just finished their GCSE exams.

Episode 1 opens with a bang, quite literally. We see protagonist Tony Stonem (Nicholas Hoult) and his girlfriend Michelle (April Pearson) having sex in a car parked in the woods. Suddenly, they are interrupted by a masked figure who smashes the windows and sets the car on fire. Tony and Michelle barely escape with their lives.

The rest of the episode focuses on the fallout from this incident. Tony is traumatized and shaken, struggling to come to terms with the fact that someone wants him dead. He lashes out at his friends and family, trying to push them away but ultimately turning to them for comfort.

Meanwhile, Michelle is dealing with her own issues. She is devastated by the attack and feels guilty for having put Tony in danger by convincing him to sneak away with her. She also has to deal with the fact that her alcoholic father is back in town and causing trouble.

The other members of the group are also dealing with their own problems. Sid (Mike Bailey) is heartbroken after his girlfriend Cassie (Hannah Murray) leaves for Scotland without saying goodbye. He turns to his best friend Tony for comfort but finds that Tony is too consumed with his own problems to help him.

Chris (Joe Dempsie) is grappling with drug addiction and trying to quit cold turkey. He seeks support from his friend Jal (Larissa Wilson), who urges him to seek professional help.

Maxxie (Mitch Hewer) is struggling with his sexuality and trying to come out to his conservative family. He confides in his friend Anwar (Dev Patel), who is initially unsupportive but eventually comes around and offers his help.

The episode ends with the group gathered together at a party, trying to forget their troubles for a night. But even as they dance and drink, they can't escape the fact that their lives are changing and they are growing up.

Overall, Episode 1 sets the tone for the rest of the season, showing the characters facing new challenges and growing up faster than they would like. It is a gripping and emotional start to what promises to be an intense and powerful season.
