Simon & Simon was a popular American detective series, that aired on CBS from 1981 to 1989, starring Jameson Parker and Gerald McRaney as brothers who worked as private investigators in San Diego. Season 1 Episode 2 was titled Love, Christy.

The episode begins with Rick Simon (Parker) being hired by a young woman named Christy (Dana Kimmell) to find out why her husband has suddenly disappeared. Christy is a beautiful and wealthy socialite who is convinced that her husband, a struggling musician, has been abducted by a rival musician who wants to steal his songs. Rick is immediately attracted to Christy's beauty and charm, and he agrees to take her case.

Rick's brother, A.J. (McRaney), is less enthusiastic about the case, as he believes that there is more to Christy's story than meets the eye. A.J. is an experienced detective, and he senses that Christy may be hiding something from them. However, Rick is smitten with Christy and refuses to listen to his brother's warnings.

Rick and Christy begin their investigation by visiting some of the local music clubs where Christy's husband used to perform. They discover that he had a gambling problem and was in debt to the local bookie for thousands of dollars. Christy is devastated to learn that her husband may have left her to run away with another woman.

As the investigation continues, Rick and Christy grow closer to each other. Rick begins to believe that Christy is innocent and genuinely in love with her husband. However, A.J. remains convinced that there is something fishy about Christy's story. He begins to look into her past and discovers that Christy has a history of using men for her own gain.

A.J. confronts Rick and warns him that he is falling for Christy's seduction. He tells Rick that he is being used as a pawn in Christy's scheme to get her hands on her husband's money. Rick becomes defensive and accuses A.J. of being jealous of his relationship with Christy.

In the end, the truth about Christy's husband is revealed. He had faked his own death to get out of his gambling debt and run away with his lover. Christy had known about his plan all along and had hired Rick to cover up her husband's disappearance.

Rick is heartbroken when he learns the truth about Christy's deception. A.J. comforts his brother and tells him that he will always be there for him, no matter what happens. The episode ends with the two brothers reconciling and promising to stick together through thick and thin.
