In Silk Stalkings season 1 episode 7, titled "Hard Copy," detectives Tom Ryan and Cassy St. John investigate the murder of a man who was found dead in his home. The victim, Harry Hannon, was a well-known paparazzo who had a reputation for being ruthless when it came to getting the perfect shot.
As Ryan and St. John begin their investigation, they discover that Hannon had made a lot of enemies in the course of his work. The victim's ex-wife, Darcy, tells the detectives that Hannon had recently become obsessed with a young actress named Lisa Kane, and had been stalking her relentlessly. Kane's manager, Tony Russo, confirms Darcy's story and reveals that Hannon had been trying to get compromising photos of Kane to sell to the tabloids.
Ryan and St. John decide to pay a visit to Lisa Kane to see if she can shed any light on Hannon's murder. Kane is understandably upset and denies any involvement in Hannon's death. However, the detectives notice that her alibi is shaky, and they begin to suspect that she may be hiding something.
Their suspicions are confirmed when they receive a tip that Kane was seen arguing with Hannon on the night of the murder. The detectives decide to bring Kane in for questioning, but she refuses to cooperate. In fact, she goes so far as to accuse Tom Ryan of trying to frame her for the murder.
Ryan and St. John are frustrated by Kane's lack of cooperation, but they refuse to give up on the case. They continue to interview people who knew Hannon and eventually discover that he had been working on a story that could have ruined a very influential politician.
As they delve deeper into the politician's background, they uncover a web of corruption and cover-ups that stretches all the way to the top. Ryan and St. John realize that they are up against a powerful adversary, and they begin to fear for their lives.
Their worst fears are confirmed when they are ambushed by the politician's henchmen and taken captive. Ryan and St. John must use all of their training and ingenuity to escape from their captors and bring the corrupt politician to justice.
In the end, Ryan and St. John are able to solve the murder of Harry Hannon and bring his killer to justice. But they know that their work is far from over, and they vow to continue fighting against corruption and injustice no matter what the cost.
