Ep 4. In the Name of Love

When wealthy stockbroker Quentin Kirkland is found murdered with a bale hook through his chest, Rita's investigation uncovers a disagreement with his teenage daughter Megan over her Cuban boyfriend, Ricky Vargas. After they narrowly miss nabbing Vargas as he is sneaking around the Kirkland estate, Chris discovers that Megan's father recently withdrew one million dollars in small bills from his bank account. While interviewing Lou Boswell, the family's security consultant, they are then told of a ransom note demanding a one million-dollar ransom in cash for Megan's return. Though Chris discovers that the young Cuban had a criminal record, he and Rita suspect that Boswell, along with Kirkland's widow Whitney, is involved in the murder. After admitting to Rita that the kidnapping was a scam suggested by Vargas, Megan returns home to discover that her boyfriend has been murdered, too. While Boswell claims that Ricky had a gambling problem and was using Kirkland's daughter to get him out of trouble, Chris and Rita are suspicious of his story to explain the killings.
