In Silicon Valley season 4 episode 4, titled "Teambuilding Exercise", the team at Pied Piper is told they need to improve their company culture and work on their team building skills. In an effort to do so, Jared suggests they attend a weekend retreat led by a renowned guru named "Action" Jack Barker.
The team is hesitant at first, but eventually agrees to attend the retreat which takes place at a beautiful resort in the woods. Once there, they are forced to participate in a series of awkward and uncomfortable team building exercises designed to make them more connected as a team.
As the retreat continues, tensions rise and the team begins to question whether or not this exercise is a waste of time, especially when they realize that Action Jack Barker isn't exactly the guru he claims to be.
Meanwhile, Richard is dealing with his own issues as he becomes obsessed with adding a feature to Pied Piper that he believes could be a game-changer. His obsession causes him to neglect the team building exercises and distance himself from the rest of the team.
Throughout the episode, we see the different members of the Pied Piper team struggling to come together and work as a cohesive unit, while also dealing with their own personal issues and insecurities.
As always, the episode is filled with the witty banter and comedic moments that make Silicon Valley such a beloved show. Fans of the series will not be disappointed by this latest installment.
