ShoBox: The New Generation is a boxing series on SHOWTIME that showcases up-and-coming talent in the sport of boxing. The March 9, 2018 episode featured a main event of Regis Prograis vs. Julius Indongo, with another notable fight being Teofimo Lopez vs. Edis Tatli.

The episode opened with a recap of the previous episode's main event between Devin Haney and Mason Menard. Haney, a 19-year-old lightweight prospect, scored an impressive knockout victory in the 9th round. The highlight reel also showed some other notable prospects who had appeared on the series in the past, such as Errol Spence Jr., Andre Ward, and Claressa Shields.

The first fight of the night was a mismatch on paper, with Wesley Ferrer taking on Will Madera. Ferrer had an undefeated record of 12-0 with 7 knockouts, while Madera was 11-0-1 with only 5 knockouts. However, Madera showed heart and determination throughout the fight, and even managed to hurt Ferrer with some big shots in the later rounds. Ultimately, though, Ferrer's superior skills and experience won out, and he was awarded a unanimous decision victory.

The next fight was a bit more competitive, featuring undefeated super middleweight prospect Ronald Ellis against Taneal Goyco. Ellis, who was promoted by Lou DiBella, was looking to make a statement and cement his status as a contender in the division. Goyco, on the other hand, was hoping to play the spoiler and pull off the upset. The two fighters engaged in a back-and-forth battle, with Ellis ultimately coming out on top with a majority decision victory.

The co-main event of the night was Teofimo Lopez taking on Edis Tatli. Lopez, a brash and confident lightweight prospect, had made headlines with his flashy ring entrances and knockout power. Tatli, a Finnish veteran with significant experience, was a step up in competition for Lopez. The fight started off slowly, with both fighters cautious and respectful of each other's power. In the second round, however, Lopez landed a vicious right hand that sent Tatli stumbling to the canvas. Despite getting up and trying to continue, Tatli was clearly hurt and was knocked down two more times in quick succession before the referee stopped the fight. Lopez celebrated wildly, doing a backflip in the ring and jumping up onto the ropes to celebrate with the fans.

Finally, it was time for the main event: Regis Prograis vs. Julius Indongo. Prograis, a rising star in the 140-pound division, was looking to prove his worth against a former world champion in Indongo. Indongo, who had recently lost his title to Terence Crawford, was hoping to bounce back with a big win over a young contender. The fight started off with both fighters trading shots in the center of the ring. Prograis seemed to have the better of the exchanges, using his superior speed and power to land some hard shots on Indongo. In the 2nd round, Prograis caught Indongo with a left hook that sent him crashing to the canvas. Indongo got up and tried to fight back, but Prograis was too much for him to handle. In the 3rd round, Prograis landed another left hook that sent Indongo down for the second time. The referee stepped in and called off the fight, giving Prograis a TKO victory.

Overall, the episode was a showcase of some of the best young talent in the sport of boxing, with each fight delivering excitement and drama. ShoBox: The New Generation continues to be an important platform for up-and-coming fighters to make a name for themselves and show the world what they're capable of.
