ShoBox: The New Generation is a television program produced by SHOWTIME that showcases up-and-coming boxing talent. On July 14th, 2017, the program featured three bouts, with six fighters competing to prove themselves amongst their peers. In the main event, undefeated super lightweight prospect Regis Prograis (19-0, 16 KOs) took on fellow unbeaten fighter Joel Diaz Jr. (23-0, 19 KOs). Prograis, known for his explosive knockout power, had quickly risen up the ranks of the division, while Diaz had fought mainly on the regional circuit, looking for his big break. The fight promised to be a clash of styles, with the heavy-handed Prograis seeking to impose his will on the more technical Diaz.

The co-main event featured a clash between unbeaten bantamweights Steve Bujaj (16-0-1, 11 KOs) and Travis Drawdy (7-0-1, 4 KOs). The two fighters, both relatively unknown outside of their local scenes, were hoping to make a name for themselves in the highly competitive bantamweight division. Bujaj, a New York native, had been training with renowned trainer Freddie Roach, while Drawdy, from South Carolina, was looking to prove his worth against a tough opponent.

In the opening bout of the televised portion of the card, light heavyweight prospect Enrico Koelling (23-1, 6 KOs) faced rugged veteran Ryno Liebenberg (18-4, 12 KOs). Koelling, a former European champion, was looking to get back on track after suffering his first career defeat in his last outing. Liebenberg, a hard-nosed South African, was looking to play spoiler and hand Koelling another loss.

As with all ShoBox events, the show featured expert commentary from Hall of Fame trainer Teddy Atlas, former world champion Barry Tompkins, and former two-division world champion Paulie Malignaggi. The trio provided analysis and insight into the fighters' strengths and weaknesses, as well as highlights from their previous fights.

In addition to the televised portion of the card, the undercard featured several up-and-coming prospects in both the amateur and professional ranks. These fighters were hoping to impress the SHOWTIME executives in attendance and earn a future spot on the network.

Overall, ShoBox: The New Generation was a high-energy showcase of some of the most promising young fighters in the sport. With exciting matchups and expert commentary, the show provided an inside look into the future of boxing.
