Ep 16. A Lightning Colt for Shaya

Zahramay Falls is buzzing with excitement as everyone is getting ready for the annual Zahramay Falls' Best Friend's Day, an event celebrating the bond of friendship between genies and their best friends. Shimmer and Shine, the twin genies, are also looking forward to the festivities and plan to spend the day with their best friend, Leah.

However, they soon realize that Leah has already made plans with her new friend, Shaya, a lightning genie who can move at lightning speed. Although Shimmer and Shine are happy for Leah for making a new friend, they feel left out and want to find their own special friend to celebrate the day with.

Determined to prove themselves as the best friend material and find someone to spend the day with, Shimmer and Shine set out to bring happiness to the people of Zahramay Falls with their magical powers. But their attempts to befriend others keep failing, leaving them disheartened.

Just then, Shimmer and Shine come across Shaya, who is struggling to control her lightning powers and accidentally causing trouble wherever she goes. When Shaya laments about not having a best friend with whom she can share her problems, Shimmer and Shine realize that they can relate to her feelings of loneliness and offer to be her best friends.

Overjoyed at the prospect of finally having a best friend, Shaya readily accepts their offer. However, just as the trio is about to set off for Best Friend's Day celebrations, Shaya is summoned by her mentor, Captain Zora, who informs her that she must join the Lightning Genie Games and cannot spend the day with her friends.

Disappointed at being let down again, Shimmer and Shine come up with a plan to help Shaya participate in the games and still make it to Best Friend's Day. They create a lightning colt for Shaya, which she can ride at lightning fast speeds, and she sets off to compete in the games while Shimmer and Shine cheer her on.

As the day progresses, Shimmer and Shine grow worried when Shaya doesn't show up at the celebrations. Just then, Shaya arrives with her new lightning colt, and together they join in the festivities, along with Leah and other friends.

In the end, Shimmer and Shine realize that friendship comes in different forms, and one can definitely have more than one best friend. The episode also highlights the importance of inclusion and kindness towards those who may feel left out or lonely.
