Richard Sharpe has returned to England after a successful campaign in India, and finds himself in trouble with his superiors over a minor infraction. Despite his demotion, Sharpe is offered a chance to redeem himself by leading a small band of soldiers on a secret mission to attack a French gun battery.
Sharpe’s task is made more difficult by his distrust of his new second-in-command, a man by the name of Major Nairn who appears to have ulterior motives. Meanwhile, the French forces are led by a ruthless and cunning general who seems to anticipate Sharpe’s every move.
As Sharpe and his men undertake a grueling march through the rugged terrain, they encounter a group of Spanish freedom fighters who join their cause. Together, they must outmaneuver the French troops and take out their guns in a daring nighttime raid.
The mission is a success, but Sharpe is forced to make a difficult decision when faced with the possibility of capturing the French general. As he debates the best course of action, Sharpe must also confront his own inner struggles and decide what kind of man he wants to be.
Sharpe’s Battle is a tense and action-packed episode that delves deep into the complex character of Richard Sharpe.
