Shakespeare and Hathaway: Private Investigators is a British crime-comedy drama series that premiered on BBC One in 2018. The show follows the unlikely duo of private detectives, Shakespeare (Mark Benton), an ex-police officer who dreams of being a writer, and Hathaway (Jo Joyner), an ambitious and quick-thinking private investigator. Together they solve crimes in Stratford-upon-Avon, the birthplace of William Shakespeare.

Shakespeare and Hathaway must sort through the conflicting stories and evidence to uncover the truth. As they delve deeper into the case, they discover a web of deceit and betrayal among the vendors, as well as personal issues between Charlotte and Craig.

Meanwhile, Shakespeare is facing his own personal challenges when he discovers that his teenage daughter, Jodie (Amelia Curtis), has dropped out of school and is spending time with a group of troublemakers. Shakespeare begins to worry about Jodie's safety and tries to keep her on the right path.

As the case reaches its climax, Shakespeare and Hathaway must use all of their investigative skills to catch the thief and bring them to justice. Along the way, they must navigate the drama and secrets of the Renaissance fair community.
