Sex Wars is a reality TV show that aired in syndication in the year 2000. The show was presented as a debate-style game where two teams of self-proclaimed sex experts debate on moral and cultural issues related to sex. Both teams consisted of four members each - two men and two women.

Each episode of the show would start with the host introducing the topic to the teams, who would then prepare arguments for either side. The debate would begin in a formal setting, with each team taking turns to defend their perspective. One member from each team would provide their argument, followed by the opposing team's member's counterstatement. This would go on for a while until the host declared that it was time for a "sexperiment."

A sexperiment involved a scenario or a question that the teams had to answer by physically demonstrating their ideas. For example, one sexperiment asked the teams to show whether men or women orgasmed first. Both teams would then perform in front of a live audience to support their claims. After the demonstration, the audience would vote for the team they thought performed better.

The sexperiments often involved physical challenges that were not safe for reproduction. In cases where an experiment was deemed unsafe, the teams would demonstrate their ideas in an alternate, less-dangerous way. The audience, who consisted mostly of college students, would then vote on the team who performed better.

At the end of the show, the winning team was awarded a trophy and bragging rights. The show was popular among college students and young adults, mostly because it discussed taboo topics that were considered too risque for daytime television. The topics ranged from sexual fantasies and fetishes to sexual orientation and gender roles.

The show's format consisted of four segments. The first segment was an introduction to the topic, where both teams would present their views on the matter. The second segment was a debate, where each team would make their case for their side. The third segment was a sexperiment, where the teams would demonstrate their ideas physically. The fourth and final segment was the verdict, where the audience would vote for the team they thought performed better.

The show's hosts, Eric Emerson and Lauren Freeman, were both sex experts. Eric wrote books on sexual psychology and intimacy, while Lauren was a host on Playboy TV. They often moderated the debate segments, asking provocative questions that would steer the conversation towards the sexperiments.

One of the most controversial episodes of the show was titled "The Great Condom Debate." In this episode, the teams had to argue whether or not condoms took the fun out of sex. Both teams presented their views on the matter, with one team arguing that condoms decreased sensation, while the other team argued that condoms were necessary to prevent STIs and unwanted pregnancies.

The sexperiment in this episode involved a contest to see which team could put on a condom faster. This led to the female member of one team to use her mouth on the condom, which caused outrage among many viewers.

Despite its controversial nature, Sex Wars was a popular show among its target demographic. It provided a platform for topics that were considered too explicit for daytime TV and brought to light many obscure sexual practices and fantasies. The show paved the way for similar sex-based reality shows, such as the one on Playboy TV, and spawned a significant fanbase.
