In Sesame Street season 40 episode 15, titled "The Amphibian Show," the gang gets excited for their upcoming show all about amphibians. Everyone is pitching in to set up the stage and decorations, but Elmo is especially excited to share a surprise about his pet frog, Prince.
As the show begins, the Sesame Street friends gather on stage, joined by a special guest, a real-live frog named Freddy. Big Bird plays host, introducing various segments that highlight all sorts of amphibians. There's a song about the life cycle of frogs, a skit featuring Oscar as a toad, and even a science experiment where Abby Cadabby helps Freddy demonstrate how amphibians can breathe through their skin.
Meanwhile, Elmo is getting impatient, anxiously waiting for his chance to show off Prince. Finally, after much anticipation, Elmo takes the stage with Prince in a special, frog-sized tuxedo. But as Elmo starts to talk about his pet, he realizes that something is wrong. Prince doesn't look quite like himself and he seems to be acting strangely.
Worried about his frog, Elmo pauses the show to take Prince to a veterinarian, Dr. Nina. She examines Prince and diagnoses him with a common ailment called red-leg syndrome, which causes a red rash on the legs and can make amphibians very sick.
The show takes a serious turn as the friends rally around Elmo and Prince. They brainstorm ways to help Prince feel better, and Dr. Nina teaches them all about the importance of keeping amphibians healthy and safe. Eventually, with some special care and medication, Prince starts to recover and the show can go on.
In the end, the Sesame Street friends all come together to celebrate amphibians and the importance of taking care of our animal friends. Through Elmo and Prince's story, they learn about the challenges that face amphibians in the wild and the ways that humans can help protect them.
Overall, "The Amphibian Show" is a fun, educational episode that teaches kids about animal care and ends with a heartwarming message of teamwork and friendship.
