In Sesame Street season 38 episode 3, "The Word 'Dog' Escapes Abby's Book," Abby is reading a story about dogs to Elmo and some of her other friends. But when she tries to read the word "dog" from the book, it suddenly disappears!
Abby is confused and worried about what happened to the word. She tries to use her magic to bring it back, but nothing seems to work. Meanwhile, the rest of her friends are trying to help her find the missing word. They search the book, their surroundings, and even the nearby word garden, but the word is nowhere to be found.
Just as they're about to give up, a friendly dog appears and leads them on a wild chase through Sesame Street. The friends follow the dog as it runs through various locations, from the park to the grocery store and even to Oscar the Grouch's trash can. Along the way, they encounter other dogs who are helping the word "dog" hide.
As they continue their search, Abby and her friends learn more about the word "dog" and what it means. They discover that there are many different kinds of dogs, from big to small, fluffy to short-haired, and they each have their own unique personality. They also learn about how dogs can be playful and helpful companions.
Eventually, Abby and her friends catch up with the dog that led them on the chase and realize that it was trying to protect the word "dog" from escaping again. They come up with a plan to safely bring the word back into Abby's book, using their own words to describe what a dog looks like and how it behaves.
In the end, Abby is overjoyed to have the word "dog" back in her book and is grateful for all the help her friends provided on their adventure. She realizes that even when things go wrong, there are always people (and dogs!) who are willing to help out and make things right.
