In Mexico on Sesame Street, season 36 episode 14, our furry and feathery friends travel to Mexico to learn about its culture. The show opens with Rosita, accompanied by her Mexican grandmother, reading a letter from her friend Lola who lives in Mexico City. Rosita is thrilled when Lola invites her to visit her home and see all the wonderful things that Mexico has to offer. Lola has invited all of their Sesame Street friends to come and learn too.

As soon as they arrive in Mexico City, Sesame Street friends are welcomed with open arms. They meet Lola and her family, who introduce them to the colorful and vibrant culture of Mexico. The episode is filled with many fun and educational moments as our Sesame Street friends work to learn about Mexico's traditions, customs, and history.

It is hard not to become enchanted with the many sights and sounds that Mexico has to offer. From the bustling streets of Mexico City to the serene historic neighborhoods filled with beautiful architecture and peaceful parks, our friends have a chance to explore the rich cultural heritage and many unique traditions of Mexico.

Throughout the episode, the Sesame Street characters learn about the history of Mexico, its landmarks, food, culture, and language. They discover the beauty and importance of traditional music, dance, art, and crafts that have been an essential part of the country's heritage for centuries.

We see familiar characters, including Elmo, Zoe, Big Bird, and Abby Cadabby, join our friend Rosita to explore the culture of Mexico, take part in some of its traditional events, and have fun experiencing what Mexico has to offer. They visit a local marketplace where they see and taste traditional Mexican foods such as tamales, churros, and street tacos. Our friends also admire local musicians playing Mexican tunes on their guitars and trumpets.

Another highlight of the episode is when Lola's family teaches our Sesame Street friends how to make traditional Mexican craft items like Piñatas and Papel picado. We see Elmo, Abby, and company put their artistic skills to work and work together to create these beautiful and colorful art pieces.

But it's not just the beauty and fun our characters discover; they also learn about serious issues affecting Mexicans. In one scene, we see the Sesame Street gang interacting with the children who have lived on the streets due to poverty. The children explain to them how they survive and provide for themselves by shining shoes.

To conclude the show, Elmo and his buddies sing a special song they composed to say goodbye to Lola and Mexico. The song highlights how much they've learned, grown, and enjoyed their stay in Mexico. We hear the song in both English and Spanish to give a tribute to the rich bilingual aspect of the Sesame Street curriculum.
