Ep 2. Episode 2

The second episode of Servant of the People season 2 opens with Vasyl Holoborodko, the newly elected President of Ukraine, trying to navigate through the murky waters of power politics. Although he is still struggling to come to terms with the fact that he is now the leader of a nation, he is aware that he needs to make some difficult decisions soon. His cabinet members are continuously bombarding him with unreadable policy documents and memos, and it's starting to take a toll on him.

Holoborodko soon realizes that there is a mole in his administration who is leaking confidential information to the opposition party. This realization sends panic throughout his team as they try to figure out how to plug the leak without any affirmative evidence. Although it seems that everyone is a suspect in this matter, it becomes evident that the information is being funneled through a dummy email account that nobody seems to have the password for.

In a bid to solve this conundrum, Holoborodko calls upon a self-proclaimed hacktivist named Masha who claims to have the expertise to hack into the supposed dummy email account. Initially hesitant to bring a stranger into his inner circle, Holoborodko relents after realizing that he has no other choice. Masha's unorthodox methods draw the ire of the President's security detail, but her expert hacking skills eventually pay off, revealing the mole in the President's cabinet.

Meanwhile, Holoborodko's wife, Kateryna, is learning how to negotiate the tricky power-politics of being a First Lady. Although she is constantly being reminded that there are certain social protocols to follow, Kateryna takes a more liberal approach to things and finds herself caught up in several awkward situations. She realizes that trying to please everyone is impossible and must decide when to take a stand and when to be diplomatic. One particular incident during their inaugural ball causes tension between her and her husband, as she decides to forego convention in favor of her own personal values.

As the episode progresses, Holoborodko faces another crucial decision. A highly controversial bill is brought before him, one that could secure Ukraine's economic future for years to come but also put the livelihoods of thousands of citizens at risk. The bill is not popular with the people, and the President must make a decision based on his conscience. The pressure mounts as various political factions try to influence his decision, but the President ultimately decides to follow his gut instinct.

The episode ends with Holoborodko realizing that being the leader of a nation is not as glamorous as he thought it would be. Although he is slowly gaining a foothold on the intricacies of power politics, he realizes that there are no easy decisions in this line of work. He is left pondering on what the future holds for Ukraine and if he is the right person to lead the country into a new era.
