Sengoku Basara: The Last Party is a Japanese anime movie that is based on the Sengoku Basara video game series. The movie is directed by Kazuya Nomura and was released in 2011. The movie is available in English, while the Japanese version was produced by Production I.G.
The main plot of the movie revolves around the battle to end all battles in Japan's Sengoku era. The warlords of the period - Masamune Date, Chosokabe Motochika, Motonari MÅri, Ieyasu Tokugawa, Shingen Takeda, and Kenshin Uesugi - are preparing for the final battle that will determine who will unify Japan.
The movie begins with a huge battle. The warlord Masamune Date, who is also known as the "One-Eyed Dragon," is fighting with his army, consisting of the warrior Yukimura Sanada, to gain control of the land. But, as the battle progresses, Date faces defeat.
Meanwhile, the warlord, Ieyasu Tokugawa, who is also known as the "Bronze Dragon," is trying to manipulate the war for his own benefit. Tokugawa's strategy is to get the other warlords to exhaust their resources, while he sits back and waits for his chance to strike.
The warlord, Chosokabe Motochika, is also fighting against Date with his own army, which includes the warrior Kasuga. Motochika's goal is to defeat Date and become the ruler of Japan.
As the battle rages on, the warlord, Shingen Takeda, comes to the battlefield. Known as the "Tiger of Kai," Takeda is a formidable opponent who is feared by many. His army is headed by Sasuke Sarutobi, a ninja who is loyal to Takeda.
Finally, the warlord, Kenshin Uesugi, who is also known as the "Dragon of Echigo," arrives on the battlefield. Kenshin's army is led by the warrior, Kakei Juzo, who is known for his fierce loyalty to Kenshin.
The Last Party follows the final battle between these warlords, who are fighting to determine who will unify Japan. The winner of this battle will become the ruler of Japan, an empire that has been ravaged by war and strife.
The animation of the movie is interesting and visually appealing. The characters are well-animated, and their movements and facial expressions are well-done. The battle scenes are beautifully executed, with the clash of swords and the sound effects all adding to the intensity of the action.
The voice acting in this movie is also very good. The Japanese version features some of the most popular voice actors in the industry, including Norio Wakamoto, Kazuya Nakai, and Souichiro Hoshi. The English dub features the talents of Johnny Yong Bosch, Robert McCollum, and John Swasey, among others.
The music for the movie is also well-done. The opening theme song, "The Party Must Go On," is a catchy rock song that sets the tone for the movie. The rest of the soundtrack is also top-notch, with music that fits the mood of the different scenes.
One thing that stands out about the movie is how it manages to blend historical fact with fiction seamlessly. While the movie is based on real-life characters from the Sengoku era of Japan, it has a lot of fictional elements, such as the battles between the warlords.
Overall, Sengoku Basara: The Last Party is a great movie for fans of historical fiction and action anime. The well-crafted characters, intense battle scenes, and excellent voice acting and animation make this movie one that is definitely worth watching.
