Jerry and George decide to test if not having sex makes them smarter. They both begin to abstain and find that they have increased mental clarity which George believes is the key to his newfound success with the New York Yankees. Meanwhile, Elaine has to deal with her employee's religious feelings when she begins praying at work and Kramer takes up smoking cigars. As George's level of intoxication increases due to abstaining from sex, he becomes more and more difficult to deal with and Jerry begrudgingly begins to consider having a one-night stand to end his abstinence. Ultimately, the gang's various struggles with abstinence lead them to question whether or not sex is really all that important.
