Kramer buys a new hot tub for his apartment and convinces Jerry to help him install it. While transporting the hot tub to Kramer's apartment, they accidentally drop it in the middle of the street, causing a massive pothole. Jerry, wanting to avoid being sued, takes matters into his own hands and tries to fix the pothole himself. However, his attempts at repairing the pothole only make things worse, leading to a series of mishaps and escalating problems. Meanwhile, Elaine is in charge of the Peterman catalog, but she accidentally includes an offensive personal note to one of the chronic customers instead of her intended message. She desperately tries to retrieve the catalog before it's too late. George, on the other hand, meets up with his old college friend, Mike, who has since become a successful businessman. In an effort to impress Mike, George lies about his line of work, but things backfire when Mike invites George to a meeting, assuming that he too is a high-powered executive. The episode culminates in a chaotic climax, as all of the characters' problems come to a head.
