The episode opens with Jerry showing off his new watch to George and Elaine, who are both impressed by it. However, Jerry quickly becomes obsessed with the watch and starts to worry about losing it or damaging it. When he accidentally drops it down a grate on the street, he enlists the help of Kramer to retrieve it.
Meanwhile, George is trying to break up with his girlfriend, but finds himself unable to do so. He tries a variety of tactics, including pretending to be deaf in order to avoid her, but nothing seems to work. Eventually, he decides to just be honest and tell her that he's not interested in dating her anymore.
Elaine, on the other hand, is dealing with her own relationship issues. She's started dating a man who she initially found very attractive, but has recently discovered that he's a "bad breaker-upper." She's worried that if things don't work out between them, he'll handle the breakup poorly.
As the episode progresses, Jerry's obsession with the watch escalates. He becomes convinced that it's haunted and that it's bringing him bad luck. He tries to get rid of it by giving it to Elaine's boyfriend, but the plan backfires when he discovers that the man is also superstitious about watches.
In the end, Jerry manages to get his watch back and everything seems to be resolved - but not before a series of hilarious mishaps and misunderstandings take place. The episode is classic Seinfeld, full of fast-paced banter and clever social commentary. Overall, it's a must-see for fans of the show.
