Jerry's friend, Babu Bhatt, is about to be deported to Pakistan because he hasn't renewed his visa. Babu's restaurant is in danger of being closed down as well since his visa status is tied to the business. Jerry feels responsible for Babu's predicament and decides to help him out by taking him to the immigration office to try to straighten out his visa situation.
Meanwhile, Elaine gets involved with a group of Laotian immigrants who are trying to make it in America by starting a clothing business. She becomes their spokesperson and tries to convince a local clothing store to carry their line of clothes. However, things don't go quite as planned when the store owner mistakes Elaine for a member of the immigrant group and makes a few racist remarks in front of her.
Kramer gets a job at a local company as a "taste-tester." He is given different food items to taste each day and is paid for his opinions. However, the job turns out to be a lot more difficult than he anticipated as he struggles to differentiate between different types of foods.
In the end, Jerry is unable to help Babu get his visa renewed and he is deported back to Pakistan. Elaine's involvement with the Laotian immigrants comes to an abrupt end when the group's leader steals her coat. And Kramer is forced to resign from his job as a taste-tester after he causes a massive food fight in the company's testing room.
