Sebastian Bergman: The Cursed One is a Swedish crime drama television series which originally aired on ZDF in Germany from 2010 to 2013. The show was created by acclaimed Swedish crime author, Michael Hjorth, and his writing partner, Hans Rosenfeldt, who is also known for creating the popular Nordic Noir series, The Bridge.

The show revolves around Sebastian Bergman, a criminal profiler who is one of the best in his field, but is also deeply flawed in his personal life. He is arrogant, narcissistic, and harbours a deep sense of guilt over a personal tragedy that occurred many years ago. Despite his flaws, he is highly sought after by the police to help solve difficult cases.

In the first season, Bergman returns to his hometown of Västerås after a long absence to attend the funeral of his mother. He begins working with the local police force as they investigate a series of murders, which seem to be connected to a group of high school friends, who were involved in a tragic accident many years ago. As the investigation progresses, secrets from Bergman's past are revealed and he must confront his demons in order to find the killer.

The second season sees Bergman working with the National Criminal Investigation Department to solve the murder of a man who was found in a park with his eyes removed. The investigation leads Bergman to a group of teenagers who are involved in a dangerous game, and eventually to a serial killer who has been operating for many years.

The third and final season sees Bergman working as a consultant with the police again, as they investigate a series of arson attacks in the city. Bergman is also dealing with personal issues, including the return of his estranged daughter, and a new love interest.

Throughout the series, Bergman's relationships with his colleagues and family are explored in depth, and his personal flaws are constantly being challenged. The show portrays a realistic and gritty view of the criminal justice system in Sweden, as well as the psychological toll that investigating heinous crimes can take on the people who devote their lives to it.

The acting in the series is superb, with Rolf Lassgård delivering a standout performance as Bergman. Lassgård perfectly captures the complex character, showcasing both his intelligence and charisma, as well as his demons and emotional struggles. The supporting cast is also excellent, with many of Sweden's top actors making appearances.

The cinematography and direction of the series is also noteworthy, capturing the stark beauty of the Swedish landscape, as well as the dark and gritty world of crime investigation. The show's theme music is haunting and enhances the suspenseful atmosphere of the series.

Overall, Sebastian Bergman: The Cursed One is an outstanding crime drama series, with complex characters, gripping storylines, and top-notch acting and production values. It is a must-watch for fans of Nordic Noir and crime dramas in general.
