Sea Rescue is a heartwarming show that follows the work of marine animal rescue organizations. In season 2, episode 13, titled Red Alert, viewers are taken on a thrilling journey as dedicated rescuers work tirelessly to save injured or stranded marine animals.

The episode begins with a red suv pulling up at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, which is situated in Florida. A man called Todd is seeking help for a sick pelican that he has rescued. Todd found the bird lying helplessly by the roadside and knew that he needed to get it medical attention. The team at the aquarium takes the pelican in and examines it, discovering that it has a respiratory infection which is preventing it from breathing properly. Without treatment, the bird will die, so the team puts him on medication and oxygen.

Meanwhile, in Atlanta, a team of marine specialists at the Georgia Aquarium are called to an emergency. A 120-pound sea turtle is tangled in fishing line and cannot swim. The turtle's flippers are bound, and he is in danger of drowning. The rescue team carefully remove the tied fishing line and free the turtle. They take him back to the aquarium for treatment and assess his injuries. Fortunately, the turtle is in good health and will be returned to the wild once he has fully recovered.

Back in Florida, another marine animal is in dire need of help. A juvenile dolphin is stranded in shallow waters off the coast of Sarasota. The dolphin is not faring well, and the rescuers discover that he has eaten a plastic bag, preventing him from being able to swim properly. The team knows that the only way they can save him is to take him to the dolphin hospital. The dolphin is lifted onto a stretcher and taken to Mote Marine Laboratory, where he is examined and treated. The doctors remove the plastic bag from his stomach, and he responds well to treatment. After a few days of rest and recovery, the team releases the dolphin back into the ocean.

Meanwhile, at the Mystic Aquarium in Connecticut, an infant beluga whale is in need of help. The calf was born to a first-time mother, but sadly, she is unable to produce enough milk to feed her young. The baby whale is malnourished and in danger of dying. The team at the aquarium must take matters into their own hands and start hand-feeding the calf. Over time, the little whale's health improves, and he starts to gain weight. However, the team knows that they have a long road ahead of them if they are to save him.

The final rescue of the episode takes place in Alaska. A young sea otter has been found stranded and alone, and the team at the Alaska SeaLife Center is called to help. When they arrive, they find that the otter's mother is nowhere to be seen, and the young pup is in danger of dying from starvation. The team takes the otter in and begins to feed and nurse him back to health. Over time, the otter gains strength and starts to flourish.
