Ep 16. The Poacher

Mike Nelson, a former Navy frogman, continues his adventurous scuba diving life as a freelance diver in this episode of Sea Hunt. In The Poacher, Mike becomes suspicious when he discovers a number of strange activities taking place in the waters he frequently dives. As he investigates, he uncovers an illegal sea turtle and fish poaching operation.

Meeting with the local Governor, he learns the extent of the poaching happening right under their noses. The Governor agrees to have Mike report all of his findings to the authorities, so they can take action against this illegal operation.

Meanwhile, Mike goes undercover to learn more about the poachers and their illegal operation. He recruits a young woman working in a seaside bar to help him get closer to the poachers. As he gains more insight into their workings, he learns that they are a much larger and more organized group than he initially realized.

Mike has a close call while investigating the group. He discovers that they are not scared to use violence to protect their poaching operation. They surveil him and lay a trap to catch him while he is on a dive. Fortunately, he escapes this near-death experience and returns to the surface to plan his next move.

With the help of the marine biologist and the young woman, Mike knows what needs to be done now more than ever. They develop a plan to catch the poachers and turn over their valuable evidence to the authorities. In the high-stakes climactic action sequence, Mike must use all his Special Forces training and underwater abilities to bring down the poachers and save the lives of endangered animals.
