As a medical comedy-drama, Scrubs has been entertaining people since its debut in 2001. This article provides a summary of Scrubs season 7 episode 3, titled "My Inconvenient Truth," which aired on December 6, 2007.

The episode starts with J.D. sitting by Sam's nightstand, watching her sleep. Kim walks in and they discuss the name of the baby, where Kim suggests naming the baby after J.D.'s father. After a moment of uncertainty, J.D agrees.

Meanwhile, Turk, Carla, and Elliot are discussing the buying of an MRI machine. Turk suggests buying one that had a 30-year warranty, and the topic of the discussion shifts to the argument of not buying in bulk. Elliot takes the idea and runs with it. Dr. Kelso challenges Elliot to prove that they need to continue buying in bulk.

J.D is on his first day of basic obstetrics and gynecology, and is teamed up with Dr. Cox who he finds out to be expecting a baby. J.D. makes a comment on how Dr. Cox feels about being a new father but Dr. Cox challenges him, asking if he was assuming something. J.D. replies with the fact that he has gone through it before, which upsets Dr. Cox.

Elliot presents her idea to continue buying in bulk, which is to order 400 blood packets, while she only needed 200. Dr. Kelso watches as she tries to persuade the nurse to give her more. Dr. Kelso approaches her and puts in his opinion on the matter.

J.D. and Dr. Cox are at a patient's bedside, in which J.D. mentions that he got about four hours of sleep and is a bit delirious. Dr. Cox leaves him to handle the minor problem while he goes to attend to something else.

J.D. later meets up with Carla who asked him to tell Turk about seeing him drooling. As Carla walks away J.D. mentions to Turk about the incident and Turk gets worried. Turk gets too paranoid about it and consults the Janitor about the situation.

Meanwhile, Sam has been called in and J.D. starts to worry. He calls Turk and Elliot into the obstetrics offices and tells them about what had happened. J.D. is then seen sitting alone in the waiting room, worried about what will happen to his son.

Dr. Cox walks in and asks what had happened. J.D breaks down and confesses that he thought the baby may be his. After a while, Dr. Cox confides in J.D. about how fearful he is of being a father again.

Elliot is seen at a patient's bedside, in which they had just received a diagnosis of Crohn's disease. Dr. Kelso walks in and changes the diagnosis to irritable bowel syndrome, even though the patient's symptoms were consistent with Crohn's disease. Elliot catches Dr. Kelso doing this and they confront each other. Dr. Kelso mentions that Elliot is not his boss and that he is entitled to make the decisions.

J.D. and Turk are at a tattoo parlor getting matching tattoos. Turk brought up the subject of the baby and J.D. shows Turk the names that he had been writing. The tattoo artist comes over and makes a suggestion on what to name the baby.

Carla is seen alone in the hospital room with J.D.'s son and is then seen speaking to him about his future.

The episode concludes with J.D. and Dr. Cox's patient being discharged from the hospital. Dr. Cox mentions his nerves of being a father again, while J.D. tells him that if Dr. Cox couldn't do it for himself then he should do it at least for his son.

"My Inconvenient Truth" was a captivating and emotional episode of Scrubs that showed the struggles of being a new father for the second time. It also touched on the importance of trusting one's instincts and standing up for what is right in the medical profession. The episode is a unique blend of drama, humor, and medical knowledge, making it an excellent addition to the Scrubs series.
