Ep 8. First time shopping! / First time bento! / First time broken heart! Eh!?

Today is a big day for Harima as he takes on three new experiences: First time shopping, first time making bento, and first time experiencing a broken heart. Harima's crush, Tenma, has made her own bento and packed it with love for Karasuma, but unfortunately she forgot it at home. She goes to Harima for help and asks him to deliver it while she goes shopping. Harima agrees to help, and as he is entering the school he bumps into Eri, spilling the bento all over her. Harima panics and runs away, not to be seen until later in the episode.

Meanwhile, Tenma and the girls experience their own mishaps while shopping for ingredients for their bento. Tenma gets tricked into buying a lot of unnecessary items, while Mikoto struggles to find the right ingredients for her perfect bento. Fortunately, Yakumo is there to help guide them and provide some sage advice. Eventually, they all make it back to school and begin making their own bentos.

Harima, on the other hand, is still running away. He feels terrible for ruining Tenma's bento and is consumed with guilt. He goes to the school rooftop to clear his head and ends up falling asleep. When he wakes up, he is greeted by Yakumo who has brought him a bento. It turns out that she too forgot her bento at home and felt bad that Harima was so upset. The two of them share their bentos together and have a heart to heart conversation in the process.

Meanwhile, Tenma and the girls have finished making their bentos and are excited to share them with Karasuma. When they arrive at his classroom, they discover that he's not there. They wait and wait but he never shows up. They eventually realize that he's not coming to school that day and they're left feeling disappointed.

As the girls leave school, they bump into Harima who is waiting outside. Yakumo encourages Harima to talk to Tenma and tell her how he feels. Harima finally musters up the courage and confronts Tenma, only to have his heart broken when she tells him that she has feelings for Karasuma. The episode ends with Harima running away once again, consumed with heartache.
