Ep 22. The Fight Begins! / Horse-Riding Fight! / The Big Scuffle!

As in every high school, competition between students can often turn into a rivalry, and School Rumble is no exception. The twenty-second episode of season one, titled "The Fight Begins! / Horse-Riding Fight! / The Big Scuffle!" sees just that as two different groups clash over who will reign supreme.

The first part of the episode, "The Fight Begins!", sees our two main characters, Tenma Tsukamoto and Harima Kenji, getting into an argument about who is the better athlete. Tenma, who is usually known for her sweet and friendly personality, becomes increasingly competitive and challenges Harima to a race. The race takes place on the way to school, and both characters show their determination as they run at full speed, jumping over obstacles and dodging pedestrians.

The second part of the episode, "Horse-Riding Fight!", takes a more comedic approach as Tenma and her friends end up at a horse-riding school. Tenma, who has never ridden a horse before, decides to give it a try and ends up causing chaos in the ring. Her friends join in on the fun, and before you know it, everyone is riding horses and showing off their equestrian skills. The scene is full of silly moments, including Tenma's horse running off with her and ending up in the middle of a baseball field.

The final part of the episode, "The Big Scuffle!", is where things get serious. It starts with the school's sports festival, where different classes compete against each other in various events. Tenma's class is determined to win, but they find themselves facing off against a rival class that seems to be one step ahead. This competitive spirit turns into a full-on brawl when the two classes start fighting in the middle of the festival. The scene is chaotic, with students throwing punches and flipping each other over.

Despite the serious tone of the last scene, the episode ends on a light note, with Tenma and her friends resolving to work hard to win next year's sports festival. As with previous episodes, "The Fight Begins! / Horse-Riding Fight! / The Big Scuffle!" showcases the different sides of the characters, including their competitive nature and their ability to laugh at themselves.
